Huwelijksaankondiging / Wedding announcement

23 juli 2011 was een speciale dag. Toen vroeg Stijn Nathalie ten huwelijk in het prachtige kasteeldomein 'De Horst' in Nederland. Nathalie zei meteen ja (hoe durfde ze ook anders) en sindsdien begonnen de voorbereidingen op wat de mooiste dag van ons leven moet worden.

Op zaterdag 1 september 2012 is het dan zover. Dan wordt op één dag het burgerlijk en het kerkelijk huwelijk voltrokken. Ook het grote feest zal dan plaatsvinden en hopelijk tot in de vroege uurtjes op zondag doorgaan.

Alle uitnodigingen zijn intussen de deur uit en het echte aftellen kan nu beginnen. Dit zouden we graag samen met jullie doen en hieronder vinden jullie alvast alle details om jullie voor te bereiden alsook wat informatie over een eventueel cadeau dat jullie ons kunnen  geven, naast wat andere weetjes.

July 23rd 2011 was a very special day. That day Stijn proposed Nathalie in the beautiful domain 'De Horst' in the Netherlands. Nathalie said 'yes' (what else would she say) and since then all the preparations started for what has to become the most beautiful day of our lives.

Saturday September 1st 2012 will be the day. Than not only the civil wedding but also the church ceremony will take place and ofcourse we will have a large party in the evening...hopefully lasting until the early Sunday morning.

All the invitations for the party have now been sent and the real countdown can start. We would love to do this together with you, our guests and therefore you can find all the necessary details to prepare yourself below as well as some information on a possible gift you can give to us.

We already want to thank you for visiting this website, don't hesitate to leave a message and we are really looking forward to meeting you all in September 1st!

Cadeautip / Gift suggestion

Misschien is onze cadeautip niet meteen origineel, maar zeker wel een bewuste keuze! Ons deel potten en pannen en alle huishoudelijk materiaal, dat hebben we al omdat we toch al een tijdje samenwonen. Wat we echter nog niet hebben en daar dromen we allebei van... ons eigen huis! Meer nog, we zouden dit graag zelf bouwen. Maar dat kunnen we nog niet, want om te bouwen, heb je, jawel, bouwgrond nodig. Onze cadeautip is bij deze dan ook een stukje grond. Nee, je moet niet aan komen lopen met wat potgrond en al zeker niet met wat gesteente uit een bijzonder land (al zou Stijn dat misschien nog interessant vinden). 

We weten dat onze droomlocatie waarschijnlijk een prijs zal hebben van om en bij de 200 euro per vierkante meter. Aan jullie dus om ons een zekere oppervlakte te schenken. Dit kan onder de vorm van een overschrijving op onze bankrekening (BE98 7330 0674 7893, BIC: KREDBEBB) met als vermelding 'wie u bent' en 'hoeveel m² oppervlakte' (uw bedrag gedeeld door 200 euro) u ons schenkt. Ons finaal cadeau zal dus een soort van puzzel zijn van mensen die een deel van onze bouwgrond hebben geschonken. Op die manier zijn jullie ook allemaal vereeuwigd in ons uiteindelijke droomhuis.

Our gift suggestion to you as a guest is a well thought choice! We already have our part of kitchen stuff as well as the necessary household items since we already live together for a certain time. What we don't have and it is our ultimate dream... our own house! Moreover, we would like to build our own house. For that ofcourse you need your own land to build on. That is than our suggestion: buy us some land. No, not really a new, ice-free part of Antarctica or a part of the desert which Somalia is no longer willing to maintain. 
We know that land in Belgium costs about 200 euro per square meter, so we would love to get extra budget to buy more surface area. By this, we would like to have a patchwork of land sponsored by you. In the end we than can give all of you a corner in our garden e.g.


In practice, you could transfer some money to our bank account ( BE98 7330 0674 7893, BIC-code: KREDBEBB) with the communication how many square meters you are donating (i.e. your donation divided by 200 euro). In the end we will have a map with all the sponsors...

Huwelijksreis / Honeymoon

Het moest en zou gebeuren... onze eerste reis naar het Afrikaanse continent zou onze huwelijksreis zijn. Na advies van een reisorganisatie gespecialiseerd in Afrikareizen hebben we gekozen voor Zuid-Afrika. Het wordt een 19 daagse afwisselende tocht met de auto vanuit Johannesburg, via Kruger, de Indische Oceaan en Durban tot in Kaapstad.

It was written in the stars... our first trip to the African continent would be our honeymoon. We took the advice from travel agencies specialized in trips to Africa for granted and chose for South-Africa. Finally, it will be a 19-day road trip starting in Johannesburg, via Kruger NP, the Indian Ocean and Durban and ending in Cape Town.

Feestlocatie / Party location

De feestlocatie werd gevonden in Kasterlee. Ook dit had deels te maken met de ligging dichter bij de familie, maar zeker ook omwille van de goede naam van feestzaal Den Eyck. Gezelligheid, authenticiteit en vooral lekkere keuken zorgen hier voor de ideale setting om ons huwelijk gepast in te zetten.

Het adres van feestzaal Den Eyck is Houtum 39 in Kasterlee.

Kasterlee heeft meerdere hotels waar u, indien u wenst, kan verblijven na het feest. De meesten zijn te vinden via de website van toerisme Kasterlee:

The party location is located in Kasterlee, a nice and green city in the North-East of Belgium, in the Campine (Kempen) area. This has to do with the proximity to most of our relatives, but certainly also because of the very good reputation of 'Den Eyck'. Cosiness, authentic Flemish farmhouse style and especially the good kitchen will make this location the best setting to celebrate our wedding.

Trouwlocatie / Wedding location

De trouwlocatie is uiteindelijk zowel voor het burgerlijk als voor het kerkelijk huwelijk Schoten geworden. In het eerste geval was dat verplicht omdat we beiden domicilie in Schoten hebben. Uit praktische overwegingen en eigenlijk ook omdat het best een mooie kerk is in Schoten, zal ook het kerkelijk huwelijk aldaar plaatsvinden. 

Het burgerlijk huwelijk in het gemeentehuis van Schoten (Verbertstraat 3, ingang langs de Markt) zal plaatsvinden om 10u15. Parkeren hiervoor kan op de Markt van Schoten.

Het kerkelijk huwelijk vindt aansluitend  plaats om 11u in de Sint-Cordulakerk van Schoten, dat achter het gemeentehuis ligt. Te voet is deze afstand dus makkelijk af te leggen.


The wedding location will be the city of Schoten as well for the civil wedding as for the ceremony in the church. For the first part, the civil wedding, this was quite obvious since in Belgium one is obliged to do this in the city where you are living. For practical reasons and also because the church is very nice, we decided to have the church ceremony also in Schoten.


The civil wedding will take place in the city hall of Schoten (Verbertstraat 3, entrance is via the Markt square) at 10.15 AM. Parking can be found on the Markt.


The church ceremony follows immediately after the civil wedding at 11 AM in the Sint-Cordula church of Schoten, located behind the city hall. This is on walking distance.
